Bottle Tops.

Bottle Tops. Love it! Not in the "I want to buy you" way, but more like "this product is hilarious!" Imagine yourself, if just for a moment, in the year 1976. You can see the bell-bottom jeans. Smell the fondue. Taste the Tab Cola dripping from the hi-tech aluminum can into your diet soda bloated belly. Can you believe you used to drink from glass bottles? And soda used to be made without saccharin? Not now. May inexpensive and virtually unbreakable aluminum cans live forever!

Before those darn dolphins swallowed all the plastic 6-pack rings, aluminum soda cans were all the rage. They were absolutely perfect!...with the minor problem that they weren't resealable. Enter Bottle Tops. Now you can add a resealable lid to your aluminum can and store opened containers in the fridge...bring it with you on your next bike ride...or turn it into a dry ice bomb.

Now roll forward to the year 2009. Plastic bottles are everywhere. Plastic water bottles in the conference room. Soda bottles at the gas station. Even the vending machine at Wal-Mart dispenses these little technological marvels that can safely be swallowed whole by even the smallest dolphins. If you live in West Virginia (no offense), maybe you haven't seen these plastic bottles yet. You will love Bottle Tops on top of your soda cans. For the rest of us, if we really want to reseal our soda, can't we just buy the bottle instead?

The reasons to buy these caps is simple. Aluminum cans are more readily available to recycle than plastic bottles. Plastic bottle are made from petroleum products and we are suppose to be conscience of reducing the use of these. The bottle caps can be reused. And they have really cute colors.

i also think these tops are a very good way to get rid of all of the plastic bottles in our landfills wisconsin

agree - our house we have more aluminum cans than anything else because it's cheaper and easier to buy the 12 & 24 packs of them than to get plastic bottles - plus we do recycle them. also it appears this product is also called "snap capps" as I found a smaller, cheaper set @ www.drinkingstuff.com in a google search.

Reasons besides the ones above:
Cans are cheaper than bottles almost always
Cans chill faster and hold their temperature better than bottles
The different colors allow you to identify your soda when in a group

Some products are only available in cans. I enjoy a Mountain Dew Amp once and a while, and at $2.50 a can, it would be nice to be able to re-seal it if I didn't feel like drinking it all, instead of having to waste it.

Too bad the shipping is such a rip-off. $10 + $6.99 for the first six, $6.99 additional shipping for the "FREE" six. $23.99 means they're $2 each. I won't give into the rip-off.

Agree on the comment re: shipping. They "Offer" a 2nd set for $10 PLUS SH ($6.99), but if you decline, they charge you $13.98 for the FIRST S&H. (and don't tell you until after the order is confirmed) Deceitful and corrupt!

Try buying them at "Seen on TV" stores or at a local drugstore. I found them at our local Walgrens for $10 for 6 without S&H

I just bought my set at Bed Bath & Beyond. I love them EXCEPT, the 2 pop cans I just tried to snap them on totally crushed the cans in half! It there any easy way to put them on???

I found them for $10 at CVS Pharmacy in FL. And the package had the "free" 6 with it for a total of 12 (no pop top opener though). The only complaint I would have is the "flip "lid instead of a "screw on" type. It gets in the way of my nose when I drink. lol. The infomercial here in FL shows them with the screw on lids, but now all over the internet all I see is the flip type. Great product though!!!

called and cancelled 2 days after ordering, some stupid girl told me it was cancelled then 2 weeks later the idiots took 61.00 from my checking account told me no record of it being cancelled! Told me I had to wait to get the crappy things and then send them back, that took 2 extra weeks. Sent the stupid things back 2 weeks ago and was told my refund would be in my checking account this week. Now the stupid idiot have ripped me off $21!!! WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANY OTHER CRAP FROM THESE IDIOTS

My mom purchased these can tops and guess what. When I try to place them on a open can the can goes flying and spills everywhere. If you get it on when still closed then you can't get the can opened. I made a bigger mess trying to place the tops on then the kids ever made just drinking out of the cans anyways. I do not suggest you waist your time or money on these.

I can't get them on, myself. my roommate managed to, but I couldn't

We bought these 'amazing' little gadgets only to find that what anybody commenting AFTER 2009 was true -
THEY DON'T GO ON THE CANS! We tried Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Diet-Right, and DR. Pepper with no success. Was a change made to the product in early 2010?
We are going back to Bed-Bath-And Beyond for a refund. We made more messes than a houseful of rowdy kids in our futile attempts.

We bought some for camping and you just can't get the top on an already open can. You have to put the top on a closed can then you have absolutely no way of opening your drink. It was a complete waste of money and a waste of about four drinks that spilled due to the can bending and spilling out.

The funny thing here is the ridiculous pop top popper bundled with the bottle tops... are we really this lazy? This is another example of as seen on tv solving a problem that never existed to begin with.

I purchased the can tops from a local store...$10 and no shipping. The tops have to placed on a full opened can...yes you have to push to get it on but this assures me a no spill grip. I personally think these tops are the best thing since sliced bread. Are these tops a waste of money?....absolutely not!

LOVE THEM! I figured out how to put them on, you just need to be wise and hold onto your can while you apply the cap so it doesn't tip over! Any five year old could figure this out! They work GREAT and help my kids keep track of their own cans. I love the fact that it helps our land fill concerns with plastic waste. I bought mine at Wal-Mart 12 caps for $9.98 and worth every penny. Great invention and marketed well.

I just purchased a package of these at our
Kmart store and opened it up to use them. And
guess what, the damn things don't work on any of my cans. What a rip off. I should get my money back, or replaced with ones that work for my cans. Do not buy this product! Those commercials are a bunch of crap! I will let our Kmart store know and anybody else that will listen. Your company should be ashamed of making money off of junk merchandise.

I was getting frustrated with my product that I purchased too... this is how I ended up finding this site.

SO after reading some comments, I found that if you place the can below you, center the top and apply pressure with your palms on the top center(ed) it will pop on. :) IT WORKS!

I started by trying to put on the top while the can sat in front of me or me holding the can and top. This process does not work and I could see myself making a mess if I had kept trying this way. Good luck readers. I hope my findings help you.

i like these. while they are a bit hard to get on, and a bit of a pain to get off unless squeeze the can quite a bit, they do work. i dont like to have to completely squeeze the can because i bring them to the bottle return, and sometimes the machine wont accept it if its crushed. but other than that, they serve their purpose!

one thing with these is that the ones in the commercial show the tops of them as twist off, but the ones you get are actually snap on. though one good thing about that is that the top cant be completely removed so you dont have the problem of dropping or losing it..all in all, they do what they are made to do!

Anonymous said...

I do like them but they are so much work you do crush the can or bend it to where it springs a leak. Whoever has figured this out to where it is easier please post. i did read the one comment about holding the can below. Have not tried yet

I agree. I like them when they are on but I kept crushing my cans trying to get them on. Just tried what one person suggested, placing it on top and pushing in the middle and . . . it worked!! Thanks!
